Palamida Invited to Participate in Microsoft and Novell Linux Announcement.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Palamida[TM], a provider of software intellectual property (IP) management and compliance products and services, today announced its participation in the Microsoft and Novell Linux announcement.

Background

Microsoft and Novell today announced a new agreement supporting broad collaboration on Windows and Linux interoperability and support. As part of the agreement, the two companies will provide each other's customers with patent coverage for their respective products.

Palamida was invited as a key participant in the announcement, and Mark Tolliver, Palamida CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , commented, "One of the results of the rapid growth of open source software is a world of 'mixed code' - IT environments comprised of both commercial and open source software. At Palamida, we are dedicated to assisting our customers with the new intellectual property (IP) compliance, licensing and software asset management issues that result. From our perspective, today's announcement from Microsoft and Novell is an important advance in interoperability in this mixed code world - interoperability not only with respect to technical issues, but also to IP issues. This is a major win for customers who will now receive a whole new level of support and assurance in their deployment of mixed code IT environments."
