Mr. Buck qualified as a Mechanical Engineer at the University of Saskatchewan The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) is a coeducational public research university located on the east side of the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The University is celebrating its centennial year in 2007. in 1981 and was later a senior executive for 15 years with the Cameco Corporation, a Canadian company that leads in uranium production. For the past 2 years he held the position of General Manager of the McArthur River Mine The McArthur River Uranium Mine is the world's largest high-grade uranium deposit. Since it began operating in 1999, it has also become the world's most productive uranium mine, contributing approximately 20% of total global uranium mining production. The mine produced 18. and the Key Lake Mill, the highest producing uranium operation in the world. Previous to this, Buck acquired extensive operational experience at Cameco's Key Lake and Rabbit Lake uranium mining operations where he held a variety of key positions. These included Mill Manager, Maintenance Superintendent, Purchasing/Transportation Manager and working with the Engineering and Projects sections, which also involved participation in the McArthur River and Cigar Lake feasibility studies. The Company's Directors consider Buck is an outstanding addition to the Paladin team, adding substantial uranium mining and processing expertise, with proven leadership and management qualities. Further, his decision to join Paladin, with its Langer Heinrich and Kayelekera projects on clear development paths and its stated objective of becoming a major supplier of uranium on the world scene, adds considerable strength to the Company's executive team. Buck will commence work with Langer Heinrich Uranium (Pty) Ltd 1st February 2006. The construction of the Langer Heinrich mill and associated infrastructure is continuing according to both budget and time schedule and the plant is expected to start its commissioning as planned in September 2006.
