PalEx Acquires Leading Canadian Pallet Rental Company; Completes Acquisitions With $40 Million in Combined Revenue.


HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 1998--PalEx Inc. ("PalEx")(Nasdaq:PALX) announced today that it has acquired Superior Management Group ("Superior"), Duckert Pallet Co. Inc. ("Duckert") and Isaacson Lumber lumber, term for timber that has been cut into boards for use as a building material. The major steps in producing lumber involve logging (the felling and preparation of timber for shipment to sawmills), sawing the logs into boards, grading the boards according to  Company ("Isaacson"). These businesses generate combined annual revenues of approximately $40.0 million.

Superior is the leading pallet rental company in Canada, with 10 locations in nine cities across Canada Across Canada was an afternoon program that formerly aired on The Weather Network. Superior owns the largest pool of CPC pallets (approximately 16.3% of the total pool) and provides a total pallet management solution to CPC members by providing or managing the pallet purchase, rental, repair, recycling, recovery and logistics functions for CPC members and other customers.
