Pakistan's anti terror efforts lauded.

RAWALPINDI, July 13, 2010 (Frontier Star): Ambassador Michael Steiner, Special Representative of German Federal Government for Afghanistan and Pakistan called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani at General Headquarters on Tuesday. The two exchanged matters of mutual interest and professional matters. According to sources, matters related to military cooperation between Pakistan and Germany, war on terror, Afghanistan situation, regional peace and stability were discussed. The German representative lauded the sacrifices made by Pakistani troops, the people and the government and said that Germany would continue to work for regional pace and stability. He said that in order to defeat terrorism the unity and conciliation amongst the world community is imperative He said Pakistan is well aware of the ground realities in the region and is playing a key role on establishing peace in Afghanistan and we would increase our cooperation with Pakistan in this regard. Meanwhile Mr Michael Vickers, Assistant US Secretary of Defence for Special Operations, Low Intensity Conflict and Admiral Eric T. Olson, Commander, Special Operation Command, USA also called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani at General Headquarters on Tuesday. According to ISPR the visiting dignitaries remained with COAS for some time and discussed the matters of professional interest. They lauded Pakistan's army efforts for successful military operation in Swat and said that US would further enhance its relations with Pakistani army and increase cooperation in Anti Terrorism and other sectors.
