Pakistan, Malaysia agree to enhance bilateral relations.ISLAMABAD, September 08, 2009 (Balochistan Times): Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a meeting with Secretary General of Malaysian Foreign Ministry Tan Sri Rastam M. Esa on Tuesday and discussed ways and means WAYS AND MEANS. The dates in this regard were proposed and the Malaysian side agreed to respond soon. It was also decided that the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Malaysia would meet on the sidelines of the upcoming D-8 in Malaysia on 1-3 November 2009. The meetings would focus on strengthening economic relations, investment, bilateral trade, and joint ventures. While acknowledging Pakistani manpowers contribution in Malaysian development, the Secretary General expressed interest in developing and importing skilled manpower from Pakistan. It was also agreed that the facility of visa on arrival for some categories of Pakistani exporters would be initiated in the near future. The Foreign Minister highlighted the need of utilizing more effectively the Free Trade Agreement in the advancement of bilateral trade between the two countries and expressed interest in exporting Pakistani fruit to Malaysia. The Secretary General expressed desire to recruit Pakistani doctors. It was decided that a recruiting mechanism would be developed in Pakistan and posts would be advertised in Pakistani newspapers for this purpose.
