) are recruiting the 18 to 24-year-olds through the Government's Future Jobs Funding initiative.

The scheme will help them build a portfolio of work and gain a credible reference that can help them on their way to future permanent employment.

Up to 40 trainees will begin their training this month followed by a second wave of recruits in April 2010.

SCH has also won support for the initiative from the Keepmoat Foundation which has donated do·nate

 pounds 12,000.

This funding will enable the recruits to undergo further health and safety training and achieve their Construction Skills Certification Scheme card. It will also be used to provide the trainees with tool kits when they complete their six-month employment.
