Painful lesson.
"Sexing Brains Down and Up: Early aspirin dose hits male rats below the belt" (SN: 5/29/04, p. 340) seems to use "aspirin" and "acetaminophen acetaminophen (əsēt'əmĭn`əfĭn), an analgesic and fever-reducing medicine similar in effect to aspirin. It is an active ingredient in many over-the-counter medicines, including Tylenol and Midol. " interchangeably. Aspirin is acetyl acetyl /ac·e·tyl/ (as´e-til) (as´e-tel?) (ah-se´til) the monovalent radical CH3COsbond, a combining form of acetic acid.
a·ce·tyl n. salicylic acid, not acetaminophen (better known as Tylenol).
