PAIN RELIEF WITHOUT DRUGS: A SELF-HELP Redressing or preventing wrongs by one's own action Without Recourse to legal proceedings.

Self-help is a term in the law that describes corrective or preventive measures taken by a private citizen.
GUIDE FOR CHRONIC PAIN AND TRAUMA comes from the author's own experience: back in 1989 following surgery for a back injury she was left in constant pain with few treatment options. Refusing to settle for a life of such pain she quit her career teaching English and began an investigation into the self-treatment of her pain, blending pain management techniques into programs that went beyond her individual needs. Her book's focus is on changing personal reactions to pain, moving from a world of reaction to stimulus stimulus /stim·u·lus/ (stim´u-lus) pl. stim´uli   [L.] any agent, act, or influence which produces functional or trophic reaction in a receptor or an irritable tissue.  to one of relaxation re·lax·a·tion

and acceptance. Self-help techniques here range from visualization Using the computer to convert data into picture form. The most basic visualization is that of turning transaction data and summary information into charts and graphs. Visualization is used in computer-aided design (CAD) to render screen images into 3D models that can be viewed from all  and breathing to coping with pain flare-ups. General libraries and new age collections will find it a popular pick.
