Pagac takes over in Champaign County.


The Champaign County Forest Preserve District in Illinois named Gerald Pagac as the new executive director. Pagac previously worked at the Indiana Department of Natural Resources The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is the agency of the U.S. state of Indiana charged with maintaining natural areas such as state parks, state forests, recreation areas, etc.  for 33 years, where he served as director of State Parks and Reservoirs. He oversaw 24 state parks and nine reservoirs throughout the state.

Pagac has a bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater The University of Wisconsin–Whitewater (also known as UW-Whitewater) is part of the University of Wisconsin System, located in Whitewater, Wisconsin. It became Wisconsin's second public college on April 21, 1868 when it opened its doors to 39 students taught by nine , and he earned his master's degree in Park and Recreation Management from the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities. . In Indiana, he was successful in providing resource preservation as well as improvements in facilities, programs and services. One of his first goals in his new capacity will be to oversee the development of a strategic plan for Champaign County.
