Packeteer Accelerates Next Generation IPv6 with Mentat SkyX Version 6.0.

WASHINGTON -- Newest Interface Simplifies Configuration; New Release of SkyX Gateway Using IPv6 Acceleration to be Demonstrated at Mentat Booth #169 and Packeteer Booth #167 at Satellite 2005 Conference

Packeteer(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:PKTR), the pioneer and global leader in WAN Application Traffic Management, today announced the availability of Mentat(R) SkyX(R) software version 6.0, adding military-standard SCPS SCPS School of Continuing and Professional Studies

The new release will be demonstrated at the Satellite 2005 conference (www.satelliteshow.net) taking place at the Washington Convention Center The Washington Convention Center has been the name of two convention centers in Washington, D.C. The old Washington Convention Center was located at 909 H Street NW and was in use from 1983 until 2004.  in Washington, DC from today through March 25.

"TCP acceleration over IPv6 is an important performance enhancement for next generation networks, including military, enterprise and government customers who need acceleration for their networks as they move from IPv4 to IPv6," said Kay Guyer, Mentat General Manager. "Packeteer continues Mentat's longtime leadership in developing acceleration technologies and high performance networking solutions. We're delighted to continue this with IPv6."

Along with IPv6 acceleration, the new SkyX firmware version 6.0 features:

--Browser-based User Interface for easier installation and management of SkyX devices.

--SSL/SSH Support provides secure management of SkyX devices.

--Radius Authentication for authenticating users managing SkyX devices using the widely deployed standard service.

--Bridging and Routing Modes for easier integration into a wider range of customer network topologies.

SkyX v6.0 will be available in early April 2005 for immediate delivery from Packeteer via the current SkyX support packages. The 6.0 release supports the XR10, XH45, and XH155 SkyX Gateways, as well as SS10, SS45 and SS155 SkyX Servers.

Demonstrations of the SkyX Gateway using IPv6 acceleration will continue in the Mentat booth #169 and Packeteer booth #167 for the duration of Satellite 2005.
