PacketVideo Corporation, the global leader in wireless media, today announced a new senior executive appointment to drive its presence and leadership in the rapidly emerging European market for mobile video.

Jim Cook joins PacketVideo from VeriFone, the Hewlett Packard subsidiary, where he was responsible for managing the e-commerce software business in Europe.

As general manager of PacketVideo Europe, Cook will play an instrumental role in deploying PacketVideo's technology to leading European mobile operators, semiconductor and device manufacturers, and content providers as Europe leads the way in the rapid adoption of advanced mobile data services.

Cook also lead the marketing efforts for Votan, a pioneering company in voice recognition technology, and was also a strategy consultant with the Arthur D. Little Arthur D. Little, Inc. is the world's first management consulting firm. Founded in 1886 by Arthur Dehon Little, an MIT chemist who discovered acetate, and co-worker Roger Griffin, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Arthur D.
