Packaging color pigments. (Materials).


The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved three Synergy color pigments for use in food packaging. The pigments are Synergy Yellow 6202, Synergy Orange 6135 and Synergy Orange 6164. Synergy Yellow 6202 is a mid-green-shade yellow said to have extremely high heat stability and very good color strength. It can withstand heat as high as 650[degrees]F in most polymers and is similar in color space A system for describing color numerically. Also known as a "color model," the most widely used color spaces are RGB for scanners and displays, CMYK for color printing and YUV for video and TV.  to pigment pigment, substance that imparts color to other materials. In paint, the pigment is a powdered substance which, when mixed in the liquid vehicle, imparts color to a painted surface.  yellow (PY) 180. Synergy Orange 6135 is a yellow-shade orange that is said to feature low warping and high value as an alternative to significantly higher cost FDA-compliant heat-stable oranges. Synergy Orange 6164 has high heat stability, up to 550[degrees]F in most polymers, and good warping and shrinkage Shrinkage
