Pacific Microsonics Opens Internet HDCD Music Store.


UNION CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 29, 1999--

Pacific Microsonics, Inc. announced the opening of the HDCD (High Definition Compatible Digital) A digital processing technique that increases fidelity on audio CDs, developed by Keith Johnson and Michael "Pflash" Pflaumer.  Music Store, www.hdcd.com, the most comprehensive e-commerce site for buying CDs made with Pacific Microsonics' high resolution HDCD encoding technology.

HDCD encoded CDs are compatible with all CD players and produce 20-bits of real musical information, as compared to 16-bits for conventional CDs, when played on a CD or DVD player equipped with HDCD decoding and HDCD filtering.

The HDCD Music Store combines Pacific Microsonics extensive list of HDCD CDs with additional album information, audio samples, and fulfillment services provided by the Amazon.com and CDNow affiliate programs. HDCD CDs in the HDCD Music Store are linked directly to their specific page in Amazon.com and CDNow.

Shoppers browsing the HDCD Music Store can click on any linked title to see its CD cover, track listings, liner notes, and listen to audio samples. To purchase an HDCD CD, the shopper adds it to their Amazon.com or CDNow shopping cart.
