PacMed Ready to Receive Military Beneficiaries Losing Group Health Access.SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 1998--PacMed Clinics announced today that its 14-clinic network is ready to immediately accommodate military beneficiaries and family members facing the cancellation of Group Health's contract with TRICARE Prime. Established in 1947, it today provides coverage and care for about 540,000 people in Washington and Idaho and is one of the largest private employers in Washington. and affiliate Group Health Northwest will cease caring for approximately 23,000 military beneficiaries enrolled in TRICARE Prime. As a TRICARE Designated Provider, PacMed contracts with the Department of Defense to administer the Uniformed Services Family Health Plan (USFHP USFHP Uniformed Services Family Health Plan (US DoD) ). USFHP provides the TRICARE Prime Uniform Benefit and is an additional healthcare option for military beneficiaries in the Puget Sound area. USFHP can immediately accept enrollment transfers from those military beneficiaries who have been enrolled in TRICARE Prime at Group Health.
