Pac-10 approves use of replay.

LOS ANGELES Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  - The Pac-10 Conference will use instant replay in football next season.

REGIONAL ROUNDUP

The Pac-10 athletic directors, meeting at the conference's basketball tournament, voted Friday to experiment with an instant replay system beginning immediately, utilizing a system similar to what the Big Ten used last year.

Several other conferences will experiment with instant replay during the upcoming season.

The system in the Pac-10 will not allow coaches to challenge calls on the field. A replay official in the press box will make the replay decision rather than the referee on the field.

Beacons get swept

in softball doubleheader

Jenni Bittle and Megan McLearn pitched well, but it wasn't enough Friday as Northwest Christian dropped a nonconference college softball doubleheader to Concordia, 3-0 and 1-0, at James Park.

Bittle struck out 10 in seven innings in the opener, and McLearn had a four-hitter with five strikeouts in the finale.

The Beacons (4-4) host Western Baptist in a doubleheader at noon today.
