PWC celebrates 25th anniversary in style.It was a night to celebrate both the organization and its most dedicated leaders and supporters as Professional Women in Construction (PWC) ushered in its 25th anniversary on December 3, 2004 at its annual Dinner Dance at the Yale Club The Yale Club may be:

The Stan Rubin Orchestra provided the evening's stellar entertainment. Notes: Examples of non-profit organizations are charities, hospitals and schools. founded in 1980 by a dozen women who, as she noted, "knew they were being treated unfairly." She said with pride that PWC has evolved, expanded and become an integral and accepted part of the construction industry. Later in the evening, Janis explained, "Tonight we celebrated out diversity and our longevity." Guest of Honor Lancaster, the first woman to hold her position in City government, thanked PWC for the award for Professional Leadership and announced that "$36 billion of construction work will be heading to New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of over the next 10 years." Urging all New York companies to pull together, she said, "We need a strong construction industry here." She encouraged the audience to help change the image of the industry and recruit more people with a higher level of professionalism. Continuing the kind of collaboration among labor, management, government and designers she has created for her International Building Code Program would "go a long way towards getting the job done," said Lancaster. In a surprise announcement, PWC Board Member Gwendolyn Colbert-Kushner then approached the podium to pay special tribute to PWC's indefatigable leaders, Janis and Vigilante. Presenting the pair with floral bouquets, she said, "We salute them, we applaud them, and we are inspired by them. We owe PWC's success to their efforts." Janis, in turn, offered special thanks to Kristy Holt, engineer, Turner Construction Turner Construction Company is one of the largest construction management companies in the United States with a construction volume of $8.5 billion in 2006.
