Staff Writer SANTA CLARITA - Tresses were curled, teased, ironed and hairsprayed. Flawless triple coats of mascara, bronzer and blush glazed their faces. Some had traveled as far as Las Vegas or Santa Barbara to buy the perfect dress, while a few procrastinators went shopping that day. The gowns spanned every style, from princess froth to barely there lacy numbers. Teenage girls across the nation are primping this time of year for the quintessential event of a high school career -- the prom. Many will spend hundreds to attempt perfection and some parents footing the bills will go along in hopes of making the night unforgettable. At West Ranch High School West Ranch High School is a public high school in the community of Stevenson Ranch, Los Angeles County, California. This was a first for these kids -- the school is just three years old, and this is the first year there are juniors. Next year, it will be a junior-senior prom.
