PURE TECH INTERNATIONAL, INC. REPORTS SECOND CONSECUTIVE RECORD QUARTERLY EARNINGS

 SOMERSET, N.J., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Pure Tech International, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: PURT; NASDAQ: PURTZ; BOS: PUR) today announced sales and record earnings for the second quarter ended Dec. 31, 1992.
 Net sales increased to $4,368,110 and $8,633,123 for the three and six month periods ending Dec. 31, 1992 compared to $3,405,283 and $7,297,903 for the three and six month periods of a year ago. Net earnings are a record $497,246 and $812,607 for the current three and six month periods, or $0.10 and $0.18 per primary share, compared with a loss of $24,679 and a profit of $18,700, or a loss of $0.01 and a profit of $0.01 for the comparable periods of a year ago.
 Commenting on the results, David C. Katz, president of Pure Tech International, said, "We are pleased with our second quarter and first half performance. We continue to expand our business, and with the recently concluded acquisition of a plastics processing plant located in Trenton, N.J., as well as our leasing of processing facilities in the state of Michigan to handle the material from our Pepsi-Cola contract, we feel Pure Tech is strongly positioned to become a dominant force in the plastics recycling industry. Strong demand for our high quality PET products continues and we continue to fulfill customer expectations."

 Pure Tech International, Inc., is engaged in the recycling of post- consumer containers made of aluminum, glass, steel and plastic and operates a total of ten recycling facilities in New Jersey, Connecticut, Michigan and Massachusetts.
