``The thing is, I did it, and that's the big thing,'' said Nord, 61, a retired social worker. ``It was a very good feeling of accomplishment, and I was happy with my results and getting through it. The camaraderie was special, we had a breakfast and dinner the day before, and shared our experiences.''

Nord has been training with Team Survivor, a group of female cancer survivors Cancer survivors are those individuals with cancer of any type, current or past, who are still living. The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS) pioneered the definition of survivor as from the time of diagnosis and for the balance of life, a person diagnosed with , for about a year. ``I feel really good. I've never done lap swimming in my life and now I'm doing lap swimming and improving my stroke,'' she said. ``I had not biked for years and now I'm biking again, and I feel really happy when I'm out there on my bike. I'm biking places I never biked before with the group and without the group. It is an accomplishment, and I'm doing physical activities that I would not have been doing otherwise.''
