Magazine editor Marc Silver has penned a new book, ``Breast Cancer Husband: How to Help Your Wife (and Yourself) During Diagnosis, Treatment, and Beyond'' (Rodale Books; $14.95).

Silver consulted with surgeons and oncologists for the book, and offers advice on the husband or boyfriend's role at the doctor's office, telling children about the diagnosis, and dealing with family tension. Silver also delivers tips on helping your partner weigh breast replacement options, coping with chemotherapy and the resulting hair loss, and moving forward once the cancer is gone. He also provides a glossary of medical terms, and relates men's experiences with the disease.
