The trick to living a long and healthy life, says author Michael Brickey, Ph.D., in his book ``Defy Aging'' (New Resources Press; $24.95), is to make the most of the 70 percent within your control.

In his book, which provides well-documented thought-provoking information and stories interspersed with lines from popular songs and poetry, the author sets out to prove that longevity longevity (lŏnjĕv`ĭtē), term denoting the length or duration of the life of an animal or plant, often used to indicate an unusually long life.  is attainable. As a testimonial to his own beliefs, Brickey even includes his own obituary, which he expects to run in the local papers sometime after his 150th birthday.
