RUN FOR YOUR LIFE: In between flea markets and football games, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena has set Oct. 15 aside for the fifth annual Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation's Race for the Cure. The 5K run/fitness walk event is sponsored by JC Penney stores and begins at 8:30 a.m. The Komen Race for the Cure was founded in 1982 and is held annually in 95 cities across the country so there's a bit of competition. Aside from hosting a driving clinic for women, Germany's off! female-friendly automaker is sponsoring the Ultimate Drive for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, a national ongoing event for breast cancer research, where participants can test drive the vehicle of their choice _ from the swift M3 line to the luxurious 7-series _ on a 10- to 12-mile route. For every mile driven, BMW donates $1 to the foundation.

With a goal of $1 million, drivers will need to log 1 million miles _ so put the pedal to the metal.

The traveling benefit makes various pit stops in the Southland now through Oct. 17. To schedule a fund-raising test drive, visit your local BMW dealership or call (877) 423-7483.
