PULSE GET FIT WITH THE TELETUBBIES.

Kids can exercise with Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa and Po when the Teletubbies present their ``Get Up and Go!'' episode at 11 a.m. Wednesday on KCET. Concerned with rising obesity rates, the ``Teletubbies'' creators hope to inspire children and their parents to become physically active.

To augment the televised campaign, live fitness events are being held around the country, including The Block at Orange (20 City Blvd. W. in Orange). Children should arrive at 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. exercise segment. Celebrity guests will include former ``Beverly Hills, 90210'' star Ian Ziering.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of children considered overweight tripled between 1980 and 2000. About 15 percent of kids between the ages of 5 and 19 exceeded the recommended body mass index based on height and weight. People who are overweight are at greater risk for a number of chronic diseases, including hypertension, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Among American adults, more than 60 percent are considered overweight or obese. One of the CDC's national health objectives is to cut the prevalence of obesity among adults to less than 15 percent by 2010.

RAISING FUNDS AND AWARENESS: More than a million people will be diagnosed with skin cancer this year, and one person dies every hour from it, according to a report from the Skin Cancer Foundation.

To kiss skin cancer goodbye, Too Faced Cosmetics has created a new pink lip gloss called Love Lisa and will donate all proceeds to the Skin Cancer Foundation, which has proclaimed May as its awareness month. The lip gloss was named by Too Faced founder Jerrod Blandino in honor of his sister Lisa, who was recently diagnosed with melanoma, and you can find it at Sephora and Nordstrom stores.
