PULSAR, a Mexico-based industrial conglomerate conglomerate, in business
conglomerate, corporation whose asset growth, often very rapid, comes largely through the acquisition of, or merger with, other firms whose products are largely unrelated to each other or to that of the parent company.
, teamed with U.S.-based financial group Citigroup Citigroup

U.S. holding company formed in 1998 from the merger of Citicorp (itself a holding company incorporated in 1967) and Travelers Group, Inc. The $70 billion merger included one of the largest U.S. investment banks, Salomon Smith Barney Inc.
 and Canada's Capital International CDPQ CDPQ Caisse de Dépôt et de Placement du Québec  to create Monterrey Private Equity Partners. Starting with a base of US$90 million, the fund will focus on medium-sized businesses in Mexico.
