 PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP AWARDS PRESENTATION TO CITY OF SEATTLE
 AND WASTE MANAGEMENT OF NORTH AMERICA FOR LONG-HAUL PROJECT
 The following was released today by Waste Management of North America (NYSE: WMX):
 WHAT: Public-Private Partnership Awards Presentation to the city of Seattle and Waste Management of North America Inc. for their long- haul project. The project is a model example of how a public-private partnership has devised an innovative environmental solution to the difficult solid waste disposal issue while saving the city over $2 million. This partnership combines a program of aggressive recycling with transportation and disposal of nonrecyclable waste to Columbia Ridge Landfill in Gilliam County, Ore. Since its inception, the project has been providing a regional solution to Pacific Northwest solid waste disposal challenges.
 WHO: Presented by The Privatization Council, a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization dedicated to bringing key leaders from all levels of government and private business together to devise solutions to public sector problems in partnership with the private sector. The award will be presented at its Sixth National Conference. Accepting the award will be Bob Damico, vice president of Waste Management of North America Inc.
