Church's cover-up

I hope reporters and the public will attack this ``cover-up'' of the criminal activity which the priests, and Cardinal Roger Mahony His Eminence Roger Michael Cardinal Mahony (born February 27, 1936) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. The church is about truth and righteousness. Compassion is due the victims of this abuse, as well as their families. Officials of the Catholic church are called upon to stop the cover-up and cooperate with the county District Attorney's Office.

He's back

Re ``Reiner warns of new tax'' (Nov. 19):

Oh, no, he's coming back next election with still another of his ballot propositions. No, not Arnold. Too bad he doesn't have to use his own money; then he'd leave us alone. To be fair, this one will tax only ``the wealthy'' - where have we heard this before? - and it sounds nice: free preschool for everybody. In fact, I'll vote for it if ``Meathead'' promises to attend with the other kids.

Happy Thanksgiving

``Happy Thanksgiving'' is a greeting that is part of the United States' history. For many immigrants, this holiday has no real meaning - the turkey, the Pilgrims, etc. But it is wonderful to be able to celebrate the good things in our lives, especially having freedom, including freedom of religion.

Threat to society

Re ``Arnold should show mercy for Tookie'' (Viewpoint, Nov. 20):

Earl Ofari Hutchinson's article that the governor should should show mercy for Tookie Williams is a pathetic example of how a ``con'' can manipulate. Not once was there any mention of the victims. This guy ``Tookie'' is a reformed Crip crip
