PUBLIC FORUM PROTEST AWAY.A message to all the anti-war protesters: Go ahead and protest all you want. You might notice, however, that more than 90 percent of the country disagrees with you and regards you all as nothing but a bunch of cowards and traitors who only care about themselves. In case any of you ``give-peace-a-chance'' types missed it, we were attacked on our own soil! Doesn't that mean anything to you people? I find it amazing that there are actually protesters out there who are more concerned about ending racism than protecting our country. Well, you cowards better get your heads out of the clouds and realize that if we don't take military action against these terrorists, racism will soon be the least of this country's problems. - Greg Garnet Canoga Park Turning a blind eye I thought Jack Valenti was going to keep an eye on to watch. - Shak. I watched the latest installment of the ``Star Trek'' sagas (Sept. 26) and wouldn't you know, the producers again went for the lowest denominator as usual - gratuitous sexual scenes and cursing. Have these people run out of creativity? It was like watching soft porn in space. Not only was it unnecessary to the plot, but more importantly, it occurred during ``family hour.'' Lancet West Hills Short-sighted approach As a former Agoura resident, I must voice my disagreement with Don Evans (Public Forum, Aug. 29) who praised the Ahmanson Ranch development plan. Other than being generally good for the surrounding area, open space also provides a serene escape from a busy world, helps people connect with nature and is very important to the indigenous life. Destroying beautiful open wilderness for the pretense of providing low-cost housing or giving businesses a few hundred more customers is an incredibly short-sighted approach that will choke everybody's quality of life. To those who support development: How much is enough? Doesn't quality count more than quantity?
