PUBLIC FORUM : READER REMINDS THAT LIFE HERE IS GOOD.Just wanted to share a great weekend with you. Saturday evening I attended a delightful performance of Shakespeare's ``A Midsummer Night's Dream,'' at the second annual Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival, presented by the Santa Susana Repertory Company and California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. The Bard must have been smiling from the heavens. Sunday morning I attended services at Simi Valley Presbyterian Church where Pastor Jeff delivered a beautiful message on God's great unconditional love for all of us. Sunday evening my friends and I visited the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center where Master Philippe Fanjeaud conducted beautiful symphonies from Ernest Bloch and Gustav Mahler. We were pleasured with the angelic soprano voice of Anna McGough. ``We mortals, fools we do not be'' - when we have at our doorsteps such beautiful gifts to enjoy in our great county. Life is good. Judy Campbell Simi Valley Zeanah supporters beating dead horse Haven't Elois Zeanah's desperate supporters figured out yet that you can't force someone to sign a petition? Citizens are lining up to sign the petition to recall Elois Zeanah and almost no one is signing the retaliatory recalls sponsored by Zeanah against Judy Lazar and Andy Fox. You can lead a horse to a petition, but you can't make him sign. Likewise, if someone wants to sign, wild horses won't keep him from doing it. If Zeanah and her supporters had any horse sense at all, perhaps they'd realize that people are signing the petition to recall her because they want to. They are not signing the petition to recall Fox and Lazar because they don't want to. It's as simple as that. Daryl Reynolds Thousand Oaks |
