This brought satisfaction to activists offended by the use of team logos depicting their heritage; however, this brushed aside the feelings of people who had learned, taught and played with pride under those very same emblems. Could not the board have brought the two sides together and reached an agreement whereby all could have felt they had given something to this community? It is time that we see each other not as antagonists, and it is time for all of us to grow together. The law that gave bounty hunters the right to take an individual into custody was written in 1857 when the local authorities were unable to travel long distances to apprehend an individual. Now bounty hunters should be required to be licensed by the state and to present a court document authorizing them to take an individual into custody. In addition, they should be required to have an officer of the local police with them, and they should be prohibited at all times from infringing upon the constitutional rights of the individual. These self-proclaimed Rambos have more rights than the accused. Those two bounty hunters killed two innocent individuals in Arizona. The law must be changed. - Lewis H.
