PUBLIC FORUM : GLENDALE FLOATS.After reading ``Glendale split on float idea'' (Daily News, April 16), it seems that I have finally found "Finally Found" was the debut single from the Honeyz. This was their most successful single in the UK and worldwide, securing a number 4 position in the UK singles chart and achieved platinum status in Australia [1] Tracklisting # Title Length a subject about which I can agree, in part, with Glendale Mayor Ginger Bremberg. With regards to the party-hat-wearing basset hound basset hound, breed of short-legged, long-bodied hound developed centuries ago in France. It stands from 12 to 15 in. Considering the fact that the coming Tournament of Roses Parade The Tournament of Roses Parade was established, and first held, on January 1,1890, in Pasadena, California, eight miles (13 km) northeast of Downtown Los Angeles. Rooted in tradition, this parade is broadcast on multiple television networks, watched by upwards of one theme is ``Celebration 2000: Vision of the Future'' and we've seen how dignified and involved Bremberg and her Glendale City Council colleagues have been in the actions of their commissioners on the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, perhaps a more fitting tribute would be a florally decorated version of the three chimpanzees, representing See No Evil, Hear No Evil and Speak No Truth! - Dink O'Neal Burbank Another float suggestion A Rose Parade float titled, ``Party Animal'' - what an outrage! What is the city of Glendale thinking? I have a much more realistic suggestion. Start with a geographic map of Pasadena, Glendale and the East Valley. At the front of the float over the area that represents Pasadena, place a conference table with business types counting a huge pile of money. In the middle of the float standing on the Glendale portion of the map place two impressive 30-foot figures of conservative business people in well-pressed suits. They should have money overflowing from their pockets and a two-by-four in hands. In front of them, place a solid wall of lawyers. On the part that represents the city of Burbank, place a small group of residents with their faces completely blurred out. Now for the finishing touches finishing touches finish npl the finishing touches → der letzte Schliff finishing touches npl → ultimi ritocchi mpl , on each side of the float, place two commercial airliners spinning around rising up over the city of North Hollywood and swooping down on the poor faceless people of Burbank. Add loudspeakers blaring jet noise, and Glendale's image is complete. - Donald Katona Northridge He's a politician Re ``Davis seeks mediation on Prop. 187'' (Daily News, April 16). Gov. Gray Davis stated, ``I have taken an oath of office An oath of office is an oath or affirmation a person takes before undertaking the duties of an office, usually a position in government or within a religious body, although such oaths are sometimes required of officers of other organizations. to enforce all the laws of California and all the laws of this nation.'' Well, Gov. Davis, the voters in California passed Prop 187, and it is law, so what is the problem? Your little scheme to ``knock heads'' to reach an agreement is a little Clintonish don't you think? The agreement you seek has already been reached. The voters passed Prop. 187, Prop. 187 is law - initiate it now. Your own statement to uphold the law says it all. But then again, you are a politician, and we all know about politicians - Leo Leo, in astronomy Leo [Lat.,=the lion], northern constellation lying S of Ursa Major and on the ecliptic (apparent path of the sun through the heavens) between Cancer and Virgo; it is one of the constellations of the zodiac. The French army, better-equipped and far larger than the Mexican army, had been sent by Napoleon III to conquer Mexico. . This initiative was passed by 59 percent of California voters and immediately challenged by activists, and Judge Marianna Pfaelzer was only too happy to accommodate them. Since then it has languished in the court system, waiting for a Supreme Court ruling. Now that Davis has taken office, and since the cozy visit with the president of Mexico, new trade agreements have been secured and he has gone public with his strong desire to delete 187. Many voters will remember his arrogance. - Barbara Mark Valencia People are waking up While thinking that if the governor wants to overturn passing of Prop. 187 by disregarding and nullifying the election, he should perhaps nullify nul·li·fy tr.v. nul·li·fied, nul·li·fy·ing, nul·li·fies 1. When it is time for the family to go somewhere, I often hear the call that I can't find my shoes, socks, etc. and end up being late. So I'm constantly telling him that he needs to be responsible for himself because someday he will have a job. His employer will require that dependability or he will get fired. Now I have a public figure that proves mom is right. Hopefully he will not have to experience the shame himself. His comment, ``Initially the three councils should get to know one another,'' April 15, shows how out of touch he is with the airport situation. In a letter dated Jan. 4, 1996, airport attorney Richard C. Personalities, egos and political baggage have no influence over the current dispute. Enough with all this clap-trap about sitting down and making nicey-nice. These are matters requiring interpretation of existing law. - Donald F. Elsmore Burbank Free from downtown Secession opponents try to scare us with the threat of higher taxes! Well, I'm not scared. I will cheerfully pay more to get more and to have some hope that efficiency, honesty and local control will prevail once we are free of downtown. Re Proposition 1, I voted no. As far as I am concerned, there will never be another bond of any kind passed in Los Angeles until the Valley is independent, and I urge others to adopt the same policy. Perhaps that will encourage the rest of Los Angeles to be happily rid of us. To Westside, Harbor and other separatists, get your campaigns in order quickly, so we can all vote yes for each other - very important - in the same election. - Robert E.
