PUBLIC FORUM : EVERYONE PUTTING BLAME ON SOMEONE ELSE.

After reading about Linda Tripp Linda Tripp (born Linda Rose Carotenuto on November 24, 1949 in Jersey City, New Jersey) was a central figure in the Lewinsky scandal of 1998 and 1999 that led to the impeachment and subsequent acquittal of U.S. President Bill Clinton.  (``Tripp heading for a fall? Records could trap confidant,'' Daily News, Sept. 23), the answer to this entire scandal has now become clear to me. No one is responsible.

Bill Clinton wouldn't have done what he did if Monica Lewinsky Monica Samille Lewinsky (born July 23, 1973) is an American woman with whom the former United States President Bill Clinton admitted (after initially denying) to having had an "inappropriate relationship"[1] while Lewinsky worked at the White House in 1995 and 1996.  hadn't made him do it.

Monica wouldn't have done what she did if Linda Tripp hadn't told Monica what to do each step of the way.

Therefore, Congress ought to impeach To accuse; to charge a liability upon; to sue. To dispute, disparage, deny, or contradict; as in to impeach a judgment or decree, or impeach a witness; or as used in the rule that a jury cannot impeach its verdict.  Linda Tripp.

That'll be the situation, at least, until Tripp goes public and names the person responsible for her doing what she did.

There's always someone else to blame.

Clinton's testimony

The subject of the debate is Clinton's testimony in the Paula Jones
''For the EarthBound character named Paula Jones (Japanese name for Paula Polestar), see Paula (EarthBound).

Paula Corbin Jones (born Paula Rosalee Corbin
case. In answering questions in a deposition in that case, Clinton relied on a literal interpretation Noun 1. literal interpretation - an interpretation based on the exact wording
interpretation - an explanation that results from interpreting something; "the report included his interpretation of the forensic evidence"
of the definition of ``sexual relations'' given to him by Jones' lawyers, which didn't happen to include his contact with Lewinsky. And he didn't volunteer the information that Jones' lawyers omitted from that definition and failed to ask him in some easy follow-up questions that any first-year lawyer would have asked.

If we take the unprecedented step of subjecting a sitting president to our adversarial civil justice system and require him to answer a spite lawsuit brought on extremely precarious legal grounds, then what right do we have to expect that he would not conduct himself as any other rational litigant litigant n. any party to a lawsuit. This means plaintiff, defendant, petitioner, respondent, cross-complainant, and cross-defendant, but not a witness or attorney.

LITIGANT. One engaged in a suit; one fond of litigation.
? Rest assured that Paula Jones was instructed by her lawyers to only answer the precise question that was asked and not to volunteer any information.

Clinton's partisan political enemies expect not only to subject him to this unprecedented civil lawsuit, but that the normal rules of our adversarial system The adversarial system (or adversary system) of law is the system of law, generally adopted in common law countries, that relies on the skill of each advocate representing his or her party's positions and involves a neutral person, usually the judge, trying to determine the  of justice be revoked.

As a hard-line Democratic Party supporter, one who has believed in the president as a political leader and overlooked what he is as a man, I fear, nevertheless, that we may be missing a key point.

While we may argue with some justification that the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. , as the last remaining superpower, and its representative, Bill Clinton, are now hampered in leading the world by the distraction and dishonor To refuse to accept or pay a draft or to pay a promissory note when duly presented. An instrument is dishonored when a necessary or optional presentment is made and due acceptance or payment is refused, or cannot be obtained within the prescribed time, or in case of bank collections,  of the Monica affair, a failure to follow the tenets and rules of the Constitution would weaken our nation, its global esteem and our ability to shape useful social change far worse.

We, as a nation, should not lose sight of the fact that we are respected predominantly for one grand reason: More than 200 years ago a set of rules, set down as a Constitution, generally agreed upon Adj. 1. agreed upon - constituted or contracted by stipulation or agreement; "stipulatory obligations"
stipulatory

noncontroversial, uncontroversial - not likely to arouse controversy
then and now to be fair, has been upheld and followed faithfully by generations of lawmakers.

For our nation to continue to lead the world, now more than ever we must cling to Verb 1. cling to - hold firmly, usually with one's hands; "She clutched my arm when she got scared"
hold close, hold tight, clutch

hold, take hold - have or hold in one's hands or grip; "Hold this bowl for a moment, please"; "A crazy idea took hold of
that which has made us great. We are a nation of laws built upon processes of reason. The fact that no man is above the Constitution or can be denied basic rights gives every U.S. citizen comfort and many world citizens hope.

If the Judiciary Committee Judiciary Committee may refer to:
  • U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary
  • U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary
shoulders, as it must, its 200-year-old mandate, and our processes of reason cleanse Bill Clinton, we will have done it right, and we will be stronger for it.

If those same processes find Bill Clinton to have violated the Constitution, he must then step down. We will not be disgraced as a nation or a people; we will be stronger still. For at that unfortunate hour we will have shown our children, and the world, that no man, no institution, stands apart from the Constitution.

To those world leaders For a list of heads of state, see .
World leaders is a MMORPG. The game involves creating a state, joining an alliance and going into war. It is mostly played by players from Israel, China, USA, Britain, Brazil and Saudi-Arabia.
and diplomats who have voiced their support for President Clinton in his latest crisis, I would like to say thank you. Thank you on behalf of the American public for showing us in no uncertain terms where you stand.

Clearly, they stand in support of lies told under oath to American courts of law and in support of lies told in no uncertain terms to the American people by their purported leader and protector.

They do not express one shred of concern for the good of the American people themselves. They seem strangely unconcerned whether we shall find ourselves in danger from this or some future president once it has been established by precedent that he may lie with impunity.

I am neither fan nor foe of Bill Clinton, but the duration and savagery of this relentless crucifixion cannot but push me into his defense camp. After all, Kenneth Starr had 24 hours of every day to pursue his obsessive witch hunt; Clinton was grappling with global problems that required intensive attention. Satan or no, any man who could endure seven months of this persecution and still try to fulfill the enormous demands of the presidency has my admiration.

Starr's pyrrhic victory Pyrrhic victory

a too costly victory; “Another such victory and we are lost.” [Rom. Hist.: “Asculum I” in Eggenburger, 30–31]

See : Defeat
aside, who has benefited from his whole hideous procedure? Not us, not the United States.

President Clinton is and has been our commander in chief of the great force of defenders of our freedom and national security. Naturally those defenders are bound by a code of combat.

were caught in such a tangled web as is being shown us, just how long do you think they would remain in the service of their country? If the president escapes from what Starr so vividly documents to the military community as ``conduct unbecoming an officer,'' the inequity and travesty of justice will be with us throughout the present generation of the military force.

In my humble point of view, considering the above and based on 32 years of military service and association, there are but two options to end this tragedy. A slap on the wrist is not one of them.

Brush is the villain

Re ``Brush statute ignored'':

Both Caltrans and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy is an agency of the state of California in the United States founded in 1979 and dedicated to the acquisition of land in the Santa Susana and Santa Monica Mountains and the Simi Hills, north and west of Los Angeles, for preservation as open  need to comply with local fire ordinances. The 100-foot clearance requirement provided under state statute is totally inadequate in heavy fuels, as was explosively demonstrated in the 1993 fires.

Both agencies should provide local residents with a wildfire management plan, following the spirit of state legislation passed following the Oakland fire of 1991. Please note newly acquired parklands are exempt from brush clearance requirements. Pre-existing lands must comply.

Areas within the city demonstrate fuel loads that exceed those that created fire storms in 1991, 1993 and 1996.

Santa Ana wind-driven fires cannot be fought by SuperScooper aircraft. Without a valid, ongoing fire inspection program, areas adjacent to wildlands are in jeopardy from catastrophic wildfire.

Protection of homes from catastrophic wildfires can occur only through fuel reduction.

Pedestrian safety

The Sept. 8 issue of the Daily News had a letter on safety in crossing streets.

How does one get a ``walk'' signal lengthened?

I am speaking about the crosswalk at Etiwanda Avenue and Vanowen Street in Reseda, which is near Reseda High School Reseda High School, established in 1955, is located in the Reseda section of Los Angeles, California, United States.

The current principal of Reseda High is Alfredo Tarin. The mascot of Reseda High is the Regent, a lion welding a crown and a scepter.
. If you do not step off the curb to cross Vanowen the second the signal turns green, you cannot get across unless you are walking very fast or running. I know: I cross there each Friday to go grocery shopping.

The best solution is to educate all drivers that the speed limit on Vanowen is 35 miles per hour, not 50.

They cannot beat the signals, yet they still exceed the speed limit. I think most of them should leave their homes 15 minutes sooner or be sure to wake up their brains and take them along when they drive their cars.
