Well, isn't that special? Can somebody explain why it takes two moving vans to tote the belongings of two people who have been on the public dole all of their adult lives? Beyond Rose Law Firm and FBI files, what can they possibly have in there? I say this only in half jest. The recently ousted head of Israel had some folks show up at his new digs regarding things he may have removed that didn't belong to him? Do you trust that Bill and Hill have kept their fingers off what doesn't belong to them? I don't. How about a little inventory reporting? Reclaimed water should also be expanded to be used on lawns for commercial buildings, private homes and apartments. My present proposal is to use only sea water to flush toilets. Granted, this plan would be very expensive, but if the cost is stretched over many years, at least 30, it will be well worth it. First, it should begin with city parks and golf courses. Then, later, it should be expanded to city and county dwellings. The next step would be on commercial buildings, and much later in private homes and apartments. While the sea water for toilets program is going on, the city should also consider desalination desalination or desalting Removal of dissolved salts from seawater and from the salty waters of inland seas, highly mineralized groundwaters, and municipal wastewaters. . I had proposed the desalination plan in the Public Forum on June 28, 1990, and since then Catalina and Santa Barbara Santa Barbara (săn'tə bär`brə, –bərə), city (1990 pop. 85,571), seat of Santa Barbara co., S Calif., on the Pacific Ocean; inc. 1850. have a desalinizing plant available for emergencies during a drought. Panicello North Hills ROSENCRANTZ PAROLE HEARING There seems to be some confusion regarding our office's position before the Board of Prison Terms concerning Robert Rosencrantz. Head Deputy District Attorney Diane Vezzani oversees our appearances at parole hearings. On June 18, 1996, attorneys for Rosencrantz appeared before the Board of Prison Terms requesting a parole date. Vezzani represented the District Attorney's Office at the hearing and determined the office's position as set forth below. Prior to Vezzani's statements at this hearing, the district attorney had no knowledge of the parole hearings in this matter. The district attorney never gave direction to Vezzani and never met with representatives of the defendant prior to the June 18, 1996, hearing. In fact, the district attorney never has met Rosencrantz or anyone in Rosencrantz's family. Vezzani stated the office's position as follows: ``On behalf of Los Angeles County, we would not be opposed to this man receiving a parole date. I think he's earned it. The question is how much time should he do for this horrible, horrible crime. The victim was, in fact, shot nine times, but if he was given a date, at least he'd be able to earn good time (inaudible) time with it, and I would leave, obviously, the time up to the honorable panel.'' In subsequent parole hearings in this matter, the position of the District Attorney's Office has not changed, that is, head deputy district attorneys DEPUTY DISTRICT ATTORNEYS. Following Head Deputy District Attorney Vezzani's June 1996 court appearance, attorneys for Rosencrantz requested that the district attorney change the office's position from nonopposition to support.
