PUBLIC FORUM; INCOME TAX, IRS, 16TH AMENDMENT NEED AN OVERHAUL.

Since there is strong evidence that the 16th Amendment was never ratified by a majority of states, and that even if it was, the amendment itself is unconstitutional, the federal income tax system should be eliminated immediately. Obviously, money is needed to run this nation, but I must question the amount taken and the methods used by a government that is so wasteful and arrogant.

The premise that the system favors anyone is an illusion. It is bad for everyone in the long run. By allowing this to go on, we are only setting the stage for far more serious breeches of our constitutional rights in the future. A reasonable flat sales tax sales tax, levy on the sale of goods or services, generally calculated as a percentage of the selling price, and sometimes called a purchase tax. It is usually collected in the form of an extra charge by the retailer, who remits the tax to the government.  is one idea, and there are other possible alternatives. The important thing is that we need to stop this ridiculous, nerve-wracking, ulcer-causing frenzy that happens at this time every year. We can eliminate a lot of middlemen and save big bucks, and we can force the government to do the same by sending them a message loud and clear that we are not going to tolerate this corrupt system of taxation any longer.

IF THERE EVER was a function of the federal government which needs restructuring, it is the income tax system.

Many poor people don't pay any income taxes because they don't earn enough money to qualify. Most well-to-do people pay relatively little tax because their friends in Washington make sure that any tax reform bills have plenty of loopholes. Consequently, the major costs for running our government become the burden of the average working family, desperately struggling to feed, clothe and educate their family.

The simple solution to this problem has been proposed many times, but it will never be passed. The income tax should be discontinued and a national sales tax passed to replace it. People with average incomes rarely spend their money on anything except the necessities of life, so the amount of sales tax they would pay would be relatively small, probably less than income taxes. Additionally, they would pay as they go and not be subjected to the shock they now have every April 15. Higher-income people would have no place to hide their money; they would pay their fair share whenever they bought another new yacht, airplane, prestige car or mansion.

The number of people now working for the IRS An abbreviation for the Internal Revenue Service, a federal agency charged with the responsibility of administering and enforcing internal revenue laws.  would be substantially reduced, and consequently the government's cost of doing business.

THE PROBLEM IS twofold. The so-called income tax has been placed upon many individuals and entities that are neither subject to nor liable for this tax. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled in two 1916 landmark cases landmark case Law & medicine A civil or, far less commonly, criminal action that has had an impact on a particular area of medicine.  that the 16th Amendment never gave Congress any new taxing power and certainly did not authorize a direct tax on this thing called income. Lawfully, the only revenue-taxable activities that the IRS would currently have jurisdiction over would be the manufacture and sale of alcohol, tobacco, firearms This is an extensive list of small arms — pistol, machine gun, grenade launcher, anti-tank rifle — that includes variants.

If you have a vague idea that Congress will reform the IRS or eliminate it altogether, don't hold your breath. Dividing up the wealth of those who produce is the name of the game. There will never be a majority of the Congress coupled with the presidential signature that will change the income tax laws for the better. There is a lot of talk, but no action.

TAXES!

It seems to me that our tax system is totally unfair to the average citizen. It is unbalanced, to say the least.

Why not emulate how big business shows its profits? They pay taxes on those profits only.

So, what does it take for a family to live on?

For example: Let's say a family earns $75,000 a year. A financial statement would show all of their expenses - food, insurance, mortgage, clothing, schooling etc. Deduct that from the total amount of their income. If there is a profit of $20,000, then that's what they should be taxed on.

Finally, it would be a fair tax to all . . . the poor, middle class and rich, unless the rich are heavier eaters than the others!

AS LONG AS EDUCATORS continue ``teaching'' that government is the answer to all our needs, nothing can change. The IRS will not be disbanded.

Politicians need it to pay for their promises, broken and unbroken. The public found politicians catering to them by tapping into the treasury. That was a first step destroying individual rights and property.

The definition of a socialist country is 25 percent or more tax bite on the dumb public allowing it.

How much government is enough? The government that governs least governs best. This is not an accepted teaching today. Both political parties only accept big budgets. Government requires wars, controls, inflation, constant tax increases to pay for emergencies real or imagined. What doesn't government control in our lives?

DOES THE TAX SYSTEM have to be restructured? The answer is yes.

Which section of society do you think the tax system hurts the most? The renter.

Which group is favored the most? The homeowner.

When a person wants to rent a house or apartment, he must put up the first and last month's rent and a security deposit, and sign a lease.

Give these people the same advantages that homeowners have and make the lease and mortgage on the same level.

Change the law to enable a renter to deduct his rent payment on his tax return.
