PU innovation award nominations sought.


The Alliance for the Polyurethanes polyurethanes (pŏl'ēyr`əthānz), group of plastics that may be either thermosetting or thermoplastic. Any of a class of very versatile polymers that are made into flexible and rigid foams, fibres, elastomers (elastic polymers), surface coatings, and adhesives.
 Innovation Award nominations, and also has changed this year's award program's three categories to "Polyurethane chemicals," "Processing equipment" and "Finished product."

Finalists will be selected and winners will be announced at the API Polyurethanes 2007 Technical Conference, "Step into the future," to be held in partnership with UTECH UTECH Urethane Technology  North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  at The Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, FL, September 24-26.

 have brought new products to the marketplace," said Neeva-Gayle Candelori of API. "This year's award program will shine the spotlight on products and technologies in three new innovative categories. Without the efforts of those aiding in the advancement of polyurethanes, the industry would not be able to take that next step into the future," she added.

Companies or individuals interested in entering the award program must submit an application no later than July 2. A panel of five judges representing a cross-section of polyurethanes experience and knowledge, and representing industry and industry associations, will evaluate all submissions and choose finalists for each category.

Finalist entries will be on display at the Polyurethanes 2007 Conference, and attendees will have a chance to cast one vote per category for the entry that they believe demonstrates the most innovative use of polyurethanes. The results will be announced on September 26, during the closing session of the conference.

The Polyurethanes 2007 Technical Conference, in partnership with UTECH North America, will feature technical sessions, panel discussions, poster presentations and exhibits.

The API anticipates that the conference will attract more than 1,500 peoplr from 40 countries.
