PU glycols.Ravecarb diol diol an organic compound containing two hydroxy groups, a dihydric alcohol. Called also glycol. polycarbonates are used for polyurethane coating and synthetic leather where high temperature and humidity resistance are required. Ravecarb aliphatic aliphatic /al·i·phat·ic/ (al?i-fat´ik) pertaining to any member of one of the two major groups of organic compounds, those with a straight or branched chain structure. al·i·phat·ic adj. polycarbonate A category of plastic materials used to make a myriad of products, including CDs and CD-ROMs. glycols are used as intermediates for the production of high performance polyurethanes. When used in polyurethane formulations, Ravecarb products are said to provide superior resistance to hydrolysis hydrolysis (hīdrŏl`ĭsĭs), chemical reaction of a compound with water, usually resulting in the formation of one or more new compounds. and to degradation by ultraviolet light, oxygen and solvents. Fields of application are said to include high performance wood coating, synthetic leather, coating magnetic tapes (audio, video), coating for security glass, adding chlorine resistance to spandex fibers, coating with high UV resistance, adhesives and sealants, and reactive hot melts.
