PTCL provides wireless handsets to its staff for increasing efficiency.
ISLAMABAD, April 19, 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- The PTCL Executive Vice President Business Zone North Islamabad (BZNI) has given Wireless Local Loop handsets to Rawalpindi Telecom Region field staff for increasing their efficiency in the field. During a function here, the sets were given to linemen, cable jointers and other field staff in order to improve efficiency and enhance mobility for keeping the network in order and efficient. The wireless phone handsets will give the opportunity to field staff to keep close contacts with the operational heads for receiving messages about faulty phones and network of valued customers in the field. This facility of Wireless Local Loop (WLL) handsets is in addition to bicycles, motorcycles and tool kits to field staff which had already been given to them. Speaking on the occasion Executive Vice President Jamil A Khawaja urged the BZNI staff to work with full devotion, zeal and zenith for customers care for image building of the organization. Each and every member among the field staff will be equipped with tool kits, Wireless Local Loop handsets, motorcycles or bicycles for enhancing the mobility in the field and increasing efficiency, he said. He further said, We have international standard telecom network, skilled staff and hardworking team and there is no reason to be failed in achieving our goal and targets. He said that in future, we will have to achieve our set targets regarding faults, new telephone connections and other value added services. The staff will be rewarded on better performance. Therefore, PTCL staff should work harder for providing state-of-the-art telecom services to Its customers, he added. He expressed full confidence in the abilities, skill and innovative capability of staff embers of PTCL that can steer the esteemed organization up to high mark of achievements. The BZNI has set up Customer Facilitation Camps for promotion of Sales and Services at the five places including Chakwal City, Jhelum, Hazro, Kahota and Murree Road. The valued customers were provided first hand information about PTCL services through banners, broachers and hand bills etc. These Customers Facilitation Camps worked from 9:30am to 5:30pm for extending telephone services and products to customers and receiving to their complaints. The purpose of establishing these modern, state-of-the-art Customers Facilitation Camps was to facilitate customers and offer the entire spectrum of telecom-related services under one roof and at one place. The facilities that were available at these Customers Facilitation Camps include, obtaining of new telephone connections, booking of IPTV (PTCL SMART-TV), Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), Broadband Packages, selling PTCL Wireless V-fone connections and sets, wireless phone scratch cards / SIMs and other PTCL services. General Manager Rawalpindi Telecom Region Ch. Arshad Badar, Chief Engineer Abdul Latif Khan, Senior Manager (MM&BB) M. Ilyas Qureshi, Manager Ch. Liaquat Ali Siddiqui, Senior Engineer Mehmood Ahmad and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
