(NASDAQ: PSIX), the first and largest independent commercial Internet Service Provider (ISP), and WatchGuard Technologies, Inc., creator of the first standalone firewall device "Firebox" today announced PSINet SecurityCentral, a solution that offers managed network security services using PSINet's InterFrame Internet connectivity services and WatchGuard's newly released "Firebox II(TM)".

Through PSINet SecurityCentral, all installation, maintenance and downloading of the latest security upgrades will be managed by specialists from a single central location allowing PSINet to keep business customers' Internet connections secure at a significantly lower cost than other system designs. This partnership is ideal for small and mid-sized businesses that need secure enterprise connections, yet, have limited internal resources to keep security protections current.

PSINet is the first major ISP to implement a complete managed firewall service using WatchGuard's product. PSINet SecurityCentral is currently available to U.S. and Canadian customers and to PSINet's customers overseas in the near future.
