 PROVIDENCE HEALTH CARE REVAMPS BOARD
 BEREA, Ohio, March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The majority of the


shareholders of Providence Health Care, Inc. (NASDAQ: PHCI) voted to reduce the size of the company's board of directors and to replace several board members who were associated with the prior ownership of the company. Also, Lawrence B. Cummings, president and chief executive officer, was elected to the additional post of chairman.
 The total number of directors was reduced from six to five. Thomas Janes, managing director, Boston Corporate Finance, and Brian Lingard, president, Lingard & Company, were added to the board. Carol Rogerson, Peter Lepp and James Vine were replaced. Cummings fills the vacancy created by the departure of Carol Rogerson, the former chairman.
 Providence Health Care is a provider of long-term nursing care, principally in the State of Ohio. The company operates, through its subsidiary, Northwestern Service Corporation, 13 long-term nursing care facilities in Ohio and one in Vermont with an aggregate of 1,081 beds.
