NEW YORK, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange today began trading the common stock of Professional Bancorp, Inc. of Santa Monica, Calif. Trading under ticker symbol MDB, the stock opened on 1,200 shares at 7-1/2.
The company previously traded on the NASDAQ system under the symbol MDBK.
Professional Bancorp, a bank holding company for First Professional Bank, N.A., is engaged primarily in health care banking. The company provides a wide range of banking services to the professional community in several cities throughout California. Those services are directed towards the professional market place with heavy emphasis on outpatient service providers. These include solo fee for service practitioners, single specialty group practices and managed care providers.
For the nine months ended Sept. 30, 1991, the company reported unaudited net income of $788,000, or $0.95 per share, compared to net income of $521,000, or $0.53 per share, for the same period ended Sept. 30, 1990.
