PITCHING MACHINE A pitching machine is a machine that automatically pitches a baseball to a batter at different speeds and styles. Most machines are hand-fed, but there are some that automatically feed.  

The REPS Personal Pitching Machine, manufactured by Key Sport Concepts Inc., is a personal, portable, revolving pitching machine designed for players, coaches, school programs, baseball and softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Invented (1888) in Chicago as an indoor game, it was at various times called indoor baseball, mush ball, playground ball, kitten ball, and, because it was also played by women, ladies'  teams and leagues, recreation departments, physical education programs, and individual home use.
