Durometer testing system

The Shore Model 717/2000 digital micro system durometer is said to produce accurate and repeatable micro range durometer readings for a variety of elastomers. Moving die rheometer

Hydrocarbon resins

This producer of specialty chemicals has introduced Norsolene hydrocarbon resins for easier processing of SBR, nitrile, chloroprene and natural rubber. Norsolene resins are light colored, heat stable and offer a wide spectrum of softening points (85 to 155 [degrees] C) to aid the processing of extruded, molded or calendered rubber parts, according to the manufacturer. Norsolene hydrocarbon resins include purely aromatic resins (S Series) and hybrid resins (A and I Series). In addition to aiding rubber processing, these resins can be used to enhance green tack, the incorporation and dispersion of fillers, and as mechanical reinforcers, according to the company. Resins

Phenolic resins are the subject of this eight-page, full-color brochure. Phenolic resins modify synthetic rubber by increasing tack and, depending on the resin, impart hardness and stiffness to the compound, according to the literature. In adhesives, phenolic resins are said to improve the performance of natural rubber and synthetic rubber adhesives. Tackifying and terpene resins are featured in the brochure, along with reinforcing or two-step resins, one-step resins, heat reactive resins and curing resins. Silicone

HV 1500 Series materials are injection moldable liquid silicone rubbers said to have high tear strength, high elongation, fast cure and excellent tracking resistance, according to the literature. HV 1600 Series materials are heatcurable silicone rubbers. Specific formulations offer characteristics such as low modulus and excellent hydrophobicity.
