PROCESS DESCRIPTIONS OF COLLABORATION & DISCURSIVE INTEREST IN PRODUCTIVE PROCESS.

ChanShatz's ongoing collaboration reveals itself in the objects and systems of new media production. Engaging multiple contexts their dialogue exemplifies the emergence of the database as an evolving cultural form. By creating traceable histories for their projects and installations they make visible the chronology and lineage of their reproductive practice.

* The Diaries--To map the collaborative existence of ChanSchatz. We have recorded all of our conversations since we met in 1985. These writings exist beyond the scope of traditional projects, forming part of our neural network neural network or neural computing, computer architecture modeled upon the human brain's interconnected system of neurons. Neural networks imitate the brain's ability to sort out patterns and learn from trial and error, discerning and extracting  of interconnected informational systems. There is no literal biographical record of our interaction. Ours is a post-evolutionary practice where it is not the fittest idea that survives, but the informational mass that is generated by the exchange. In this way the individual is not denigrated by a selective process, but rather fostered by the continued genesis of activity.

* The Process and Methodology of Formmaking--Forms differ and the chronology reflects different emphases, but the focus remains the same. The structure of our project is what gives it continuity.
