PROBATION SWEEP NETS 10 ARRESTS WEAPONS, WHITE POWER SYMBOLS FOUND.

, sheriff's deputies on Wednesday concluded a four-hour probation sweep in Lancaster that netted 10 arrests.

It was during their final search, at the home of Matthew Gore, that deputies came across a cache of weapons, some homemade, and items emblazoned with swastikas and other white power symbols.

``(Gore) had a warrant and was an extreme white power gang member,'' said Sgt. Larry Mead of the Lancaster Operation Safe Streets Team, which assisted the Los Angeles County Probation Department The Los Angeles County Probation Department provides services for those placed on probation within Los Angeles County, California, USA. Northern, 29, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft when he returned from lunch. More items believed stolen were found in his vehicle.

Also arrested were probation violators taken into custody on suspicion of being under the influence of controlled substances and narcotics sales.

``Overall, this was a very successful operation,'' Deputy Don Rubio said. ``We just want to make sure that probationers are complying with the terms of their probation and if they are not we want them off the street. It's a quality of life issue.''
