PROACTIVE ELECTS DALE E. JOHNSON AS BOARD MEMBER AND PRESIDENT
ATLANTA, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard C. Bricker Jr. and Fred J. Melton Jr., announced today the election of Dale E. Johnson to the board of directors and as president of PROACTIVE, INC., a computer software and consulting firm specializing in management control products for financial institutions.
The company sells microcomputer software systems that enable financial institutions to monitor their regulatory compliance and internal control functions.
The FDIC Improvement Act of 1991 requires certain financial institutions to document efforts to monitor these activities and financial institution management to attest in an annual report to the effectiveness of their regulatory compliance and internal control system. Bricker stated that: "These new regulatory requirements will focus management's attention on documenting compliance with financial institution regulations and the adequacy of their institution's system of internal control. We believe we have developed the first comprehensive system to enable management to effectively monitor these activities as the basis for their newly required annual reports."
The principals of PROACTIVE include Richard C. Bricker Jr., chairman; Dale E. Johnson, president; Fred J. Melton Jr., executive vice president; and Dennis L. Schneider, vice president. Bricker and Melton are also executive officers of Bricker & Rooks, P.A., a Certified Public Accounting firm, and Schneider is in charge of data processing for the firm. Johnson was formerly the chief financial officer of Prime Banchares, Inc., which recently agreed to be acquired by SouthTrust Corporation.
Johnson stated that: "These systems have been enhanced over the past several years and are currently being used by a number of Georgia financial institutions. We have expanded the marketing of these systems nationwide."
