PRESIDENT OF WETTERAU PITTSBURGH DIVISION ISSUES STATEMENT
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is a statement from Thomas A. Kwasny, president, Wetterau Pittsburgh Division in response to ABC-TV's "Prime Time Live" segment which was highly critical of in-store supermarket handling practices:
We want to assure the customers of Foodland, Kuhn's and IGA Supermarkets served by Wetterau Inc.'s Pittsburgh division that all of our products are of the finest quality and tested on a regular basis.
Each and every one of our stores is inspected and the products sold are tested on a regular basis by Microbac Laboratories, a nationally recognized independent testing laboratory located in Ross Township. Our store operators and their employees receive regular advisories on sanitation and product handling practices.
Again, we want to emphasize to all our Foodland, Kuhn's and IGA Supermarket customers that our food handling and sanitation procedures are of the highest possible quality and constantly monitored by the individual store owners, and representatives of Wetterau an Microbac Laboratories.
