PRESIDENT'S NOTESCongratulations to our successful UFE writers! My sincerest congratulations to all of our successful UFE candidates! I cannot imagine anything as exciting as getting the news that you've made it-except maybe getting married or having your first child! Passing the UFE is truly a great achievement of which each one of you and your family and friends should be very proud! For many of you, qualification is now just a few steps away, and I look forward to personally meeting you at this year's Convocation ceremony. Until then, I say: "Welcome to the 'club'!" I assure you that you will soon be joining one of the most prestigious and respected professions in the world. You are completing a journey for which you will be well rewarded in the future. Unlimited career opportunities and personal growth are at your feet, and the fun is just beginning! More congratulations in order... I would also like to congratulate the firms that employ all of these students. The experience, mentorship, and camaraderie of working with other professionals are all critical components in the development of chartered accountants. The support that you and your firms have provided for students has helped pave the way for them to reach this important milestone and continue on their paths to becoming CAs. Finally, the CA School of Business is to be warmly congratulated for its program, which has clearly prepared students for the rigour of the UFE. The excellent pass rate and the number of Honour-Roll students from the West is a tribute to both the strength of the program and the hard work the students have put into it. Happy New Year! 2006 comes with the promise of good economic times for both CAs and BC businesses alike. I hope it brings each of you satisfaction and happiness, as well as opportunities to share your good fortune with others. With the national strategic plan going into implementation stage, 2006 and the future beyond it promise to be very exciting times for all of our members. © 2006 Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia Provided by ProQuest LLC.
