PREP TRACK NOTEBOOK: N.D. STANDOUT STAYS BUSY.

Eghosa Isa doesn't have the time she would like to practice individual events, but that hasn't slowed her down.

Women's athletics competition. Contestants take part in seven different track-and-field events: 100-m hurdles, shot put, high jump, long jump, javelin throw, and 200- and 800-m runs.

``I like changing my events around,'' Isa said. ``It gives me practice in different events to prepare me for the heptathlon. It's tough, though, because I have to put in a lot of effort to remember where I left off in a particular event last time.''

For most sports, this won't have much of an effect. But in track, a lot of lower-level athletes are getting the chance to compete in varsity.
