But Tuesday's showdown at Santa Ynez (18-2) could be another opportunity for the top-seeded Patriots (21-2) to add to their legacy as one of the area's most successful programs.

Viewpoint, making its fifth consecutive semifinal appearance, could join Calabasas, Harvard-Westlake of Studio City and Westlake as the only area teams to reach four consecutive Southern Section championship matches.

"The team is definitely looking forward to the opportunity," Viewpoint coach Asif Azhar said. "I'm very pleased that we've played well in our biggest matches and we're going to be counting on our experience of (past) playoffs to help us again because it's going to be a challenge."

"I knew when the time came for the playoffs, that we'd be able to rise to the level that we were at (in March)," Azhar said. "I'm very pleased with our doubles and we're going to continue to count on them the rest of the way."
