PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: BIG DAY FOR CRESPI'S JACOBY.

Will Jacoby threw for two touchdowns and ran for two scores and the Crespi of Encino defense held on in the second half for a 28-10 nonleague victory Saturday at Harvard-Westlake of Studio City.

Jacoby completed 9 of 15 passes for 111 yards and rushed for 70 yards. Fullback Chad Henley had a game-high 105 yards rushing for the Celts The following pages provide lists of nations or people of Celtic origin, arranged by branch of Celtic ethnicity or language grouping:

 (4-1), who built a 28-3 halftime lead by scoring on all four of their first-half possessions.

Jacoby scored on a pair of 3-yard runs and threw touchdown passes to Tony Stotzer (20 yards) and Michael McSweeney (13 yards). McSweeney's score, coming with 28 seconds left in the half, was set up by Kevin Crane's 45-yard run on a reverse.

In the second half, Harvard-Westlake (0-5) had success moving the ball through the air with the passing combination of Richard Irvin and Brian Sheilds. Irvin completed 16 of 32 passes for 264 yards and Shields caught eight passes for 192 yards. The two connected on an 80-yard scoring pass on the first play of the third quarter.

Giangregorio rushed for 122 yards on 12 carries, including scoring runs of 38 and 41 yards. --Santa Paula 47, Malibu 6: Karsten Demers was 5 of 11 passing for 79 yards and scored the only touchdown for the Sharks (0-5, 0-1) in the third quarter of the Frontier League The Frontier League, based in Troy, Illinois, is a professional, independent baseball organization located in the Midwestern United States and Western Pennsylvania. It operates mostly in cities not served by Major or Minor League Baseball teams and is not affiliated with either.  opener at Malibu.

Demers' 5-yard touchdown run was set up when Demers completed a 52-yard pass to Tomasso Trento.

Malibu had a chance to score with 11 minutes to play in the first half when Dan Curtis reached the Cardinals' 14-yard line with a 52-yard run on a fumblerooski play. The Sharks, however, missed on John Paxton's 38-yard field-goal attempt with Santa Clara leading 35-0.

David Maldonado was 9-of-11 passing for 174 yards and threw four touchdown passes for the Cardinals (2-4, 1-0), who finished with 327 total yards. Malibu netted 170 yards.

--Kern Valley 35, Vasquez 0: The Mustangs (1-5, 0-3) were held to a negative 34 yards in a High Desert League loss at home.

John Tosto gained 35 yards rushing on 24 carries to lead Vasquez, which gave up 28 second-quarter points en route to totaling a negative 57 yards in the first half.

Nine rushers combined for 144 yards on 29 carries, with four touchdowns, for the Broncs (2-3, 2-1).

Kern Valley sophomore Ben Struska was 8-of-15 passing for 85 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown pass to Chad Davidson. Struska also rushed for a 2-yard score.

Sharpe carried 17 times for 136 yards, including scoring runs of 80, 1, and 7 yards and completed 6 of 9 passes for 132 yards. Running back Omar Dittu added 98 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown.

--Viewpoint 35, Windward 0: Daniel Wasser rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns and Andrew Chizever had a hand in three touchdowns to lead the Patriots (4-2, 3-1) to a Heritage League win at home. Chizever completed 3 of 8 passes for 65 yards and scored on a 43-yard punt return as the Patriots remained within a game of first place Grace Brethren, which plays Viewpoint Nov. 2.
