Ollie Bradley scored 30 points, hitting 12 of 15 free throws, to lead Antelope Valley High past Ribet of Los Angeles 81-79 Tuesday in the opening round of the Canyon boys' basketball tournament.

Ribet, which has an enrollment of just 200, was poised for an upset over the 2,300-student public school but let Antelope Valley (4-2) pull away to as much as a 13-point lead in the third quarter.

The Fighting Frogs (4-1) came back in the fourth quarter with a 32-point flurry behind Chris Booker, Caleb Bassey, Shomar Thomas and Yancy Clark but fell just short.

Eric Williams and Jon Holland had 18 and 11 points, respectively, for the Antelopes, who played their sixth consecutive game on the road.

In other Canyon tournament games:

--Valencia 62, El Camino Real 56: The Conquistadores of Woodland Hills erased a five-point fourth-quarter Valencia lead with a 7-0 run. However, the Vikings got two 3-pointers from Rayn Zike and one each from Curtis Dunwoody and Mike Morales to reclaim control.

``We stepped up defensively and were able to keep them to one side of the court,'' Valencia head coach Rocket Collins said. ``And we hit some big shots down the stretch. Playing against Fairfax and Locke high schools last week at the Redondo Union tournament really helped us prepare for tonight.''

Morales and Zike each scored 17 points for the Vikings, and 6-foot-8 junior center Andrew Bruckner added eight points.

El Camino Real was led by sophomore Rai Colston and junior Todd Wolfson, who each scored 15 points. Wolfson's two put-backs and Kyley Rodriguez' 3-pointer gave the Conquistadores a short-lived two-point lead before Valencia launched its closing burst of 3-pointers.

In the Thousand Oaks boys' tournament:

--Oak Park 75, Grant 70 (OT): Nick Smith scored 28 points, four in overtime, as the Eagles overcame an 11-point lead by the Lancers of Van Nuys. Grant Smith added 27 points for Oak Park, which sent the game into OT on Monte McNair's free throw with 11 seconds left in regulation. Gino Riney led Grant with 25 points.

--Harvard-Westlake 67, San Marcos 51: The undefeated Wolverines of Studio City made nine 3-point shots, five by Bryce Taylor, who finished with 23 points. Evan Harris added seven blocks and eight rebounds for Harvard-Westlake, which pulled away with a 23-9 fourth-quarter burst.

--Newbury Park 51, Burroughs 46: Chris Randall scored 21 points and Rudy Flores eight in a comeback victory by the Panthers.

--Santa Barbara 54, Poly 43: Adam Townsend scored 18 points and Emilio Sandoval scored eight in a losing effort for the Parrots of Sun Valley.

In the Valencia girls' tournament:

--Harvard-Westlake 64, Canyon 42: The winning Wolverines of Studio City (2-1) got a combined 49 points in the first three quarters from Danielle Butte, Lyndsey Medders and Stefanie Clark to build a 26-point lead. Ahsley Palmer had 20 points for Canyon.

--Glendale 58, Taft 49: Anika Hartounian scored 25 points for the Dynamiters, who took a 17-point halftime lead.

--No. Torrance 53, Notre Dame 42: The Knights of Sherman Oaks could not overcome an 18-point lead by the Saxons despite 10 fourth-quarter points from Jessica Mundy, who finished with 16 points.

--Valencia 39, Camarillo 35: Day Weathersby scored 15 points, including four on free throws in the last 40 seconds as Vikings overcame a seven-point deficit. Rachel Young scored 15 for Camarillo.

--Chatsworth 56, Oak Park 29: Linnae Barber scored 21 points to lead the Chancellors past the Eagles (1-2), who got 13 points from Jannel Buckley.

In other boys' basketball:

--Stoneridge Prep 77, Milken 58: Leon Usher made eight 3-point shots in a 30-point effort to lead the Tigers of Tarzana (4-0) to a Milken tournament win. The host Wildcats of Los Angeles (3-2) got 22 points from Adam Mintz. In other Milken tournament play, Shalhavet defeated Malibu 79-68.

--Hart 65, Culver City 56: Luke Hilmo scored 14 points to lead the Indians of Newhall, who got double-figure scoring from four players and took control by outscoring the Centaurs 22-9 in the third quarter of this Beverly Hills tournament win. In other Beverly Hills tournament play, Palisades improved to 4-1 with a 58-39 win over Cleveland of Reseda (0-2).

--Hoover 80, California 74: Haik Stedanyan scored 28 points for the Tornadoes of Glendale (2-2), who took a 28-11 first-quarter lead and finished with double-figure scoring from five players in a Fullerton tournament win over the Condors of Whittier.
